IRN Charitable Reuse Program

Charitable Reuse JamaicaWakefield Moving & Storage seeks to alleviate unnecessary waste through our Charitable Reuse initiative. In this program, we work alongside IRN, The Recycling Network, to match U.S. and international nonprofit organizations like Mercy Corps, Feed The Children and AmeriCares with quality surplus furniture, supplies and equipment.

By providing high-quality donated educational, healthcare, corporate and other types of equipment to disadvantaged communities in North America, and to more than 40 nations on five continents - including countries in South America, Eastern Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia - our Charitable Reuse program helps communities better themselves in a variety of ways. Charitable Reuse UkraineThe classroom, administrative, residential, athletic and science/lab supplies that we've donated to schools help create improved educational opportunities, and the healthcare and corporate materials that we've collected for and donated to medical facilities and businesses - and which include medical equipment and tools and industrial equipment, office furniture and materials - aid in community and economic development. In total, we've worked with over 350 clients in 23 states on more than 1,000 reuse-coordinating projects, sending quality equipment to 43 countries and 22 U.S. states. Our projects have ranged from transporting 5 desks to moving 35 tractor-trailers. In total, we've helped divert 22 million pounds of equipment from the landfill!

Charitable Reuse NicaraguaThere are several benefits of donating your surplus equipment to the Charitable Reuse program - not only will your donations directly benefit communities in need, you'll help the environment by reusing equipment rather than dumping it in a landfill. Our Charitable Reuse program is easy on your pocketbook as well, as reusing offers significant cost savings compared to disposal - usually saving business owners about 25%-30%. Also, photographing and displaying the results of your reuse project on your site can be a public relations boon for you and your company, and will interest prospective customers attracted by a socially-engaged company.
